Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything to download the drawings?

No. All drawings on this page are completely free to download and print for personal use.

What age are these drawings for?

The drawings feature large, simple shapes and are typically suitable for children from around 3 years and up. Older children can be challenged with more detail and blended colors.

Can I share the drawings in a daycare or school?

Yes — you are welcome to print and share them in private and non-commercial settings such as daycares, preschools, classrooms, or birthday parties.

Can I get a coloring page of my own child?

Yes — in the Flipr app, you can create an avatar of your child and save images from your own stories as coloring pages, ready to print and color at home.

What paper is best to print on?

Standard A4 printer paper works fine. If you use markers, slightly thicker paper (120-160 g) can prevent the colors from bleeding through.

Why is coloring good for children?

Coloring trains the pincer grasp and the small muscles in the hand — the same ones your child will need when they start writing letters later on. Staying within the lines is actually an advanced exercise in hand-eye coordination.

At the same time, it's one of the few activities where children naturally calm down. Many parents find that ten minutes with colored pencils works better than asking a child to 'relax' — because their hands are busy while their minds settle.

And then there are the choices: what color should the fox be? Every decision is a small exercise in independence and taste, where there are no wrong answers.

Which coloring page suits which age?

Ages 3-4: large surfaces and few details. Choose 'Flipr says hello' or 'Flipr eats ice cream', where there's room for broad strokes and thick pencils.

Ages 5-6: scenes with more elements, such as 'The family on a picnic' or 'Flipr at the beach'. At this stage, children begin to stay within the lines and choose colors intentionally.

Ages 7-10: detailed drawings like 'Flipr in the magical forest' or 'Flipr snorkeling underwater'. Older children enjoy mixing colors, creating shadows, and adding their own backgrounds.

What should we use to color?

Colored pencils are the easiest to control and won't bleed through the paper. Markers provide the most vibrant colors but require slightly thicker paper. Watercolors work best if you print on 160 g paper so it doesn't warp.

A little tip: place an extra sheet under the drawing. That way, the table stays clean, and the child can work without interruption.

How to use the drawings with your stories

First, read a story featuring Flipr and his family — then bring out the drawing that matches the adventure. The child then colors a scene they already have pictured in their mind, often retelling the story as they go.

It's a simple way to extend a bedtime story into the next day, while retelling the tale helps practice both vocabulary and memory.
